Why this site?

GSM Europe responds to consumer demand in Europe for greater transparency in international retail roaming prices.
This website provides a pan-European comparison tool and a one-stop-shop source for EU-wide information on roaming.

Operators offer a great choice of price plans to match various needs. That's why GSM Europe has created an interactive search engine that will help you to compare operators’ prices and check the best one. The prices refer only to consumers profiles, not business ones.

Other online initiatives exist both at national and at EU level. Yet this website goes a step further in providing a pan-European comparison tool and a one-stop-shop source for EU-wide information.

The search results will display prices for prepaid and postpaid schemes for:

  • a call back to the customer’s home country to a fixed line;
  • sending an SMS back home;
  • a local call to a fixed line;
  • sending an SMS locally;
  • receiving a call;
  • receiving an SMS.

Prices include VAT and reflect rates from mobile network operators active in the 27 EU Member States, Switzerland and Croatia.

GSM Europe is the European interest group of the GSM Association, the premier global body behind the world's leading wireless communications standard. GSM Europe (GSME) represents 147 mobile operators in 50 countries/areas in Europe, serving around 558 million subscribers, 85 of which hold licenses in the 27 EU Member States.

In 2001, GSM Europe introduced its Code of Conduct for Information on International Roaming Retail Prices. This voluntary Code of Conduct for European operators was developed to give mobile phone customers clear and understandable information about prices for roaming. The operators who adhere to this Code of Conduct are responding to consumer demand in Europe for greater transparency in international retail roaming prices.
